Our family only takes a family vacation every couple of years. Our children are getting older and this may be the last. I couldn't have asked for a better spot for our family to call our "home away from home". The location for us was perfect. We love to get away from the crowds and emerse ourselves in the area as if we are locals. We were able to cook on the grill every night. There were even people that came to remove the coconuts and trim the palm trees while we were there...didn't bother us at all, made me feel like it was home and atleast coconuts didn't drop on our heads. :) Fact: more people are killed from falling coconuts then shark attacks!! We enjoyed watching the surfers right out the back door while sipping coffee and loved running down to the water every chance we had. Participated in the TAO LUAU which is just down the street and gives you access to the Waimea valley and falls for attending the luau Highly recommend if you are a family that likes to find a "home away from home".

We had a great stay. Waking up to see the ocean out of the window is wonderful. North shore food trucks and shopping not far from house. If we get the pleasure of coming back, we would stay here again.

Great location. Can't beat the views. Very easy check in process. There is a bunk bed but no ladder to get on the top bunk.

CONS: (1) SEWAGE BACKUP: Unfortunately, we experienced a heaving sewage backup after a rainstorm, there was poop all over the bathroom, it came into the hallway, and was all over the outside of the house. It was horrific and completely consumed an entire day of our stay. The host did refund us for the second half since we had to leave and find other accommodation (2) INACCURATE LISTING: NOT a true four bedroom home because bedroom with twin beds does NOT have any windows. There is no second escape route if there is a fire. Stay in that closed box at your own risk. Also, there is not a king bed on this property, they are queen beds only (3) BEDDING: The pillows are pancakes, the sheets are loose and stained. There are no extra blankets, pillows or linens if needed. (4) MISC: The screen doors were a pain to open and close and constantly falling off. We only got one roll of paper towels for an 8 day stay. Bunkbed room- no closet or dresser. Queen bed room- no closet or dresser. You have to put luggage under the bed to walk. Showers are tiny, good luck shaving your legs. I would never stay here again. PROS: Location, location. You have direct access to the beach, the backyard is lovely, Parking is easy and fits three cars. Walking distance to Teds Bakery and Sunrise Shack. Kitchen was clean. The views were beautiful. Ocean sounds at night. Outside shower.

We had a great time at this beach house on Sunrise beach. We had a beautiful view from the living room while drinking our morning coffee. Our teens loved playing in the waves out front. The waves were low during the week we stayed there. There were lots of beach towels, beach gear, and an outdoor shower to rinse off. BBQ dinners on the deck followed by sunsets in the beach every evening. It was magical!

This was a very convenient location for the North Shore. We went in October so it was not a good time for swimming because of the size of the surf, but it was a great time for watching surfers much braver than us and beautiful walks on the beach. Swimming and snorkeling areas were a short drive away. Also the Polynesian Cultural Center is close and a highlight. The property is older but well maintained and great for 6-8 people. We would definately consider going back.
