When our family is off-island we like make our home available to allow others to experience all that the South side of Hawaii Island has to offer. The home is 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. A large kitchen with island is setup for entertaining you and your guests during your stay.
NEW as of March 2024... an outdoor shower, usable by all guests. Enjoy a unique Hawaiian shower experience surrounded by native lava rock harvested from our property and built by an authentic Samoan fire-dancer/rock wall builder.
*MBR is King bed, 60" smart TV, and has an on-suite bath w/ shower & laundry.
*BR2 is a Queen bed with a 32" smart TV
*BR3 is normally setup as 2 twin beds, but you can pull these together to make a King (we have both twin and king bedding), with a 42" smart TV.
*Living Room sofa is a Queen size pullout bed.
Dining table is set for 4, there are fold-up chairs in BR3 closet that an be added for 6 at the table, plus 2 stools at the kitchen island. (seating for 8).
The kitchen boasts quartz counters and custom cabinets. Oven with range, full size fridge, dishwasher, toaster oven...well stocked kitchen with utensils, cookware and dinnerware.
For coffee we have a drip coffee pot, a french press, a pour-over, aero-press and a bean grinder and espresso machine and a hot water pot...lots of methods to choose from. There's nothing like a good cup of Hawaii coffee while watching the sunrise.
Wifi is available and is very fast for if you have to do any work (while trying not to be distracted while staring at South Point and the ocean.)

You will have access to the entire main hale (house) during your stay.
The front Lanai of the house is a shared space and can be used by both hale and ohana guests (the ohana is listed separately on Airbnb, but both can be rented together if an additional bedroom is needed.)
In the traditional Hawaiian style, there is no AC built into the house. The temps at 3600' elevation range from 55-85 degrees F all year long... and there is normally a breeze.
SO, if it's HOT: open the window.
If it's COLD: grab an additional blanket.
(Note: there is a small heater unit built into the wall by the fridge, I've only ever used this once. If you do turn this on, please ONLY USE IT when you are in the main area, and turn it off when you leave. Energy is VERY expensive on the island.
All toilets are modern and have a bidet, we do ask that you not flush any toilet paper or personal products, please put all paper products in the small cans and empty those as needed to the large can outside.
