⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES
🌬 A/C Notice
Hale Mahina Resort does not have air conditioning.
Each room is equipped with ceiling fans and benefits from natural trade-wind breezes and jalousie windows that allow excellent cross-ventilation throughout.
🚧 CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:
A number of sinkholes have appeared on the property which restricts access to the lawn in some areas. These areas are cordoned off for guest safety. In 2026, repairs to the seawall will begin and will continue into 2027. The work will involve excavation and seawall reinforcement work with heavy equipment. The ambiance of Hale Mahina will be affected but we will try to maintain access to the beach area on the southside of the property. Check back for updates on the progress and view the webcam on Hale Mahina’s website for a real-time picture of the work.
🐓🦎 PEST CONTROL AND ROOSTERS
Due to Maui’s rural location, you may experience the occasional rooster or harmless gecko.
Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaiʻi — please don’t harm them.
The HOA provides regular pest control, but insects and lizards are part of island life.
Our units are meticulously cleaned and inspected. Contact us if you experience more than normal activity — we’ll coordinate with the HOA to help.
☀️ HAWAIʻI CLIMATE
Hawaiʻi’s tropical environment supports small island wildlife, including geckos, ants, and roosters. Despite regular pest control, these are part of normal island living.
Any contact with such pests does not constitute a breach of agreement or qualify for refunds or adjustments.

Unit was clean and well appointed. Needs another TV in one of bedrooms. There was a temporary manager whi was very nice, kept grounds clean but in 11 days never once vacuumed elevator which has rug floor and was filty. Know this isnt VRBO problem but first thing you see in building was not appealing. This was our 7th time to Hale Mahina so we jnew this wasnt representing of building.
Very clean and thoughtfully stocked and designed for guests. Would definitely recommend.

This condo is the best. Great views and beautiful condo
The condo had everything we needed for a relaxing stay! Well appointed kitchen, comfy beds, and plenty of extras like snorkel gear and boogie boards. The sunset views were incredible and the daily turtle visits were a treat! The only con was the upper bedroom/loft was warm (no a/c) however the property owners provide fans in each room and all have ceiling fans as well. Don’t hesitate to book this gem!!
The condo was recommended by a friend and we had been longing to go. It was everything she said it was. Very nice and clean, well stocked with everything we needed, everything worked as it should... and the best part was evening sunsets. We really had a hard time leaving the property to go explore the island but when we did everything felt like it was right there. we will come back and we've already recommended this spot to friends.
The fish condo was so lovely. Everthing we could need was available. Upon arriving their was attention to little details such as towels folded as a swans, tissues folded into roses, chocolates and coffee. We saw sea turtles daily on the beach, whales out on the ocean and a rare monk seal on our beach! The pool and grounds were maintained daily. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Best of all was relaxing on the lanai with a cup of coffee, listening to the surf and amazing sunsets. The only surprise was that the condo does not have air conditioning. We arrived later in the day and our first night was unpleasantly warm. There are plenty of fans available and once the doors were opened up, the condo was more comfortable.
We were surprised by the spaciousness of this condo. Sometimes photos are deceiving but not in this case. We were a family of six…multigenerational. We never once felt crowded. The view was perfect. The beach was safe for the kids. Sea turtles all day, every day. The property manager was kind and helpful. The pool was sparkling clean. Sorry, nothing negative about it. Five Stars.
My family and I loved our time at the condo. The view is unbeatable. We loved the private beach and swimming pool. The location is great - just a few minutes drive from plenty of stores/restaurants. The only issue that came up during our stay was that one of the beach chairs we left on the beach went missing after we left it there for a couple of hours, so would advise to not leave things on the beach unattended to. Mike was a great host - the condo had all the essential amenities and then some. I appreciated his responsiveness to questions. Would love to stay again in the future.
Breathtaking view of both neighboring islands, right on secluded beach. Sunset was particularly beautiful.
