The host was very responsive and welcoming. Property was clean and well stocked with kitchen amenities, lots of beach gear and has a lovely outdoor space with lots of seating and even a deck for viewing sunsets.

Very private and relaxing. Everything you need for a vacation. The location requires some driving to get to groceries and sites but the quality and the privacy of the property is well worth a few miles. Would totally choose this over a resort any day!

This bungalow was a perfect base for my family of four (including two young kids). Spacious, clean, peaceful and quiet, and stocked with everything we needed. An easy 7-minute drive to several perfect, beautiful beaches while also very convenient to shops, grocery stores, and restaurants in Waimea. The host was very helpful and responsive. We loved staying here!

Good location to access all of the big island. Location is stocked with pretty much everything you will need for your stay with a great vibe inside and out. This all resulted in a stress free and enjoyable stay.

This home was perfect! Joe was a great host and had the house ready for our arrival. Both indoor and outdoor space was comfortable and clean. The a/c and ceiling fans kept the temperature just right for sleeping at night. The upper deck has a view of the ocean and Hāpuna Beach was only a 10 minute drive away. My favorite was eating breakfast or relaxing at night in the private Lanai with a bubbling fountain that attracted song birds and frogs. This house was a home away from home and the icing on the cake to an amazing Hawaiian Vacation!

The property was just as described - sparkling clean and well-appointed. The kitchen has everything you need and more for vacation cooking. Communication with the property manager was smooth and easy via text. The location is great - easy access to the resorts and beaches, as well as Waimea and points east. We had zero issues during our stay - would book here again without hesitation.

Very fancy house with all amenities accurately described.

We enjoyed our three night stay at Hale Hapuna very much. The bungalow is in Kawaihae Village, 10-15 minutes or so from some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, so the location can’t be beat. Hale Hapuna itself is clean, thoughtfully laid out, and quiet. The interior is beautifully decorated, and the exterior lanai and gardens are cool and shady with lots of seating and a water fountain to drown out any traffic noise. We didn’t really cook much but it seemed like the kitchen has everything you need for vacation meals. The bedrooms are somewhat compact but there’s lots of storage so you don’t have to trip over your suitcase all the time. The AC and ceiling fans kept the house comfortable, the washer/dryer was so nice to have, and there were plenty of chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The owner clearly put a lot of thought and effort into preparing this property and we were very comfortable during our stay.

My family had an outstanding stay at Hale Hapuna, it was truly perfect! The home had everything we needed for a relaxing and memorable vacation. We especially loved the outdoor living area, which was perfect for unwinding together, and the star gazing deck was an absolute highlight, so peaceful and beautiful at night. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommended!

Well equipped, well managed, design forward, snug unit. Fantastic outdoor areas. All exactly as pictured. Six minutes drive to lovely, lovely Spencer Beach. A pretty good distance to grocery and drug stores. Would return in a minute.

The property served us well. Good proximity to local beaches and Waimea...a bit of a drive from Kailua/Kona but we knew that and were okay with it. Clean and well appointed.

This house worked great for our family of 5. We loved the outdoor space and it was close to numerous top beaches. We would stay again.

My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Hale Hapuna in Kawaihae. Very nicely appointed home with all the amenities to make it a very comfortable stay. The property manager very thoughtfully put on the AC before we arrived. Gorgeous view from the upper terrace. Look forward to coming back to this property.

The house was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The lanai was spacious and a great place to hang out. The upper deck had amazing sunset and beach views. All amenities were as advertised and made our stay perfect We will definately be back. The managers were easily accessible.

The location is very convenient to beautiful beaches on the northwest side of The Big Island, to Waimea and to other areas in the north. The house has several interesting and beautiful outdoor patios where we had coffee every morning.

It was such a pleasure for our family of four plus an extra college student to stay here. Everything was clean and bright, everyone had individual climate controls in their rooms, and the kitchen was so well-stocked with just about anything a person could need. The property manager was so helpful and easy to work with. Mahalo!

We loved our stay here for 4 days of beach days and dinners on the grill. Did yoga on the deck every morning- and watched the sun set. Delighted in the outdoor shower. Beach chairs, cooler bag. 1 snorkel mask with 2 fins. Communications were seamless. We loved sharing the family neighborhood found it quiet and comfortable. The outside area is very peaceful and the house is well appointed for cooking. Can’t wait to return!!

Place was lovely

Great spot north of the busy spots, and conveniently close to both Waimea and the northern beaches. The outdoor patio spaces made the stay amazing - fenced and with varying amounts of shade was perfect for kids (and adults!). Host was very responsive.

We enjoyed our stay very much and have already recommended Hale Hapuna to a friend.

Overall, a nice place to stay. But there were some electrical quirks—nothing major. Neighborhood not very appealing. For older guests, there really needs to be a handrail to go up to the view deck. It isn’t safe for anyone with any mobility issues. We weren’t able to use the deck at all after going up there once, so we saw no lovely sunsets. But very cute living area. Tiny bathroom. AC was a big plus!!

The check-in was straight forward with ample supplies provided. Was one of the most well stocked with utensils in the kitchen, toiletries as well as ample spices. Furthermore, it has beach supplies namely chairs, umbrellas, towels and boogie boards. The house itself had a fantastic backyard with an upper and lower zen like deck with a water feature. Loved the outdoor shower too. The home was well decorated and property manager, Joe, was on top of everything and very responsive. Only consideration is the location, will need to drive everywhere. Although, that pretty much applies to all places on the Big Island unless you are staying at resort. Would highly recommend this site!

This place was perfect for our family of 4! We left early in the morning most days and came back at dark to relax and enjoy the backyard. We grilled almost every night and enjoyed the absolute privacy that this place offered. Management was great and communicated with us during our trip. We couldn’t have picked a better place! A little jewel away from the crowds. This place has everything you need. Small but comfortable for my family of 4. We loved catching a sunset on the deck and sitting in the outside oasis-just as pictured. Management checked in just before arrival and was receptive to one text on wifi. Would definitely stay here again.

This property was perfect for our family. We explored the entire island and this was a great comfortable, quiet and well stocked place to call home. The lanai was fantastic, and so much thought was put into setting up this home for guest. We didn’t need a thing but, appreciated being checked on during our stay.

We loved the proximity to beaches, and the unit was very well equipped with appliances, seasonings and books and games. We enjoyed our stay!

Clean, well thought out, cozy.

This Hale has everything you could possibly need while exploring all the amazing places in this area. Comfortable and spacious with all the amenities to be self sufficient. The outdoor Lanai is a garden paradise with several levels to enjoy shade, eat outside and take in the sunset. We throughly enjoyed our stay here, excellent communication and beautiful location.

This place was so hard to leave. It is rare to find a place with any nod to design in vacation rentals without spending a fortune. We appreciated the relaxing Asian vibe, the fully stocked kitchen, and the attention to detail. This place is immaculate and comfortable, and we loved the views. Communication was terrific. I pray we can return. If you are on the fence, just do it.

Fantastic property. Everything in the description is accurate. We had a great time. The property was clean, had a great location, everything worked, and the outdoor lanai and sun deck were great. The property manager was very accessible and helpful. We stayed for two weeks and had a great time. Highly recommended property.

Stepping through the gate kind of took my breath away. Beautiful multi-level outdoor space with several seating areas and outdoor dining table. Spacious kitchen/dining/living area nicely decorated with Hawaiian and Southeast Asian art. Single full bath was perfect for us as a couple but might be challenging if staying with as many as this property could sleep. Location is a bit of a drive from groceries (8 miles to Foodland in Mauna Lani complex) and a pharmacy but proximity to a couple of the best beaches (Hapuna etc) and historic/cultural sites make it one of the best locations for outdoor activities. It was our first visit so we’re not familiar with the Big Island but I suspect this is one of the best locations available. Note that Walmart and Costco have locations near the airport so a little planning would help for families and groups that’d need more food supplied. Kitchen was particularly well supplied with equipment and utensils for a rental. Foodies and couples feeling romantic will find fancy resort dining within ten minutes. Merriman’s is about 15 minutes toward Waimea. Less expensive options are even closer at Seafood Bar (good for families). Blue Dragon is close too but seemed rowdy for us. Some places are closed Saturday night or close early - so be aware. All in all a great value in spacious and peaceful surroundings.

This was a great location for exploring the coast. Was super clean and tidy with attention to detail. The outdoor patio living space was great and I enjoyed the view of the water from the top terrace.
